
White Sulphur Springs, WV – Senate Working Group (SWG) hosted the first ever, Senate Republican Chiefs of Staff & Committee Staff Director’s Symposium at the historic Greenbrier Resort, March 24-26, 2022. The well attended gathering was the largest concentration of Senate Republican Chiefs of Staff and Committee Staff Directors outside of Washington, D.C.
The event featured keynote addresses by Governor Jim Justice of West Virginia, Senator Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, along with Josh Holmes, Comfortably Smug, Michael Duncan and John Ashbrook of the Ruthless Podcast.
"For an inaugural event, for a new organization, we couldn’t be prouder” Senate Working Group Executive Director, James Kimmey shared. “This event was not only well attended, but the content was educationally rich, which as an educationally focused organization, really paves the way for Senate Working Group to serve as an off the Hill resource to the Senate.”
The symposium featured the country’s top policy experts, including Deroy Mudock of the London Center for Policy Research, Daniel Garza of the Libre Institute, Michael Sobolik of the American Foreign Policy Council, Dr. Michael Strain of the American Enterprise Institute, and Hans Von Spokovsky of the Heritage Foundation.
In addition, the group heard from Commissioner Sean Cooksey of the Federal Elections Commission, Ryan Dollar of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Ryan Munce of co/efficient, Travis Smith of Creative Direct, and Mary Katharine Ham, conservative commentator on CNN.
Senate Working Group is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Senate staff by providing them with the tools and resources they need to better serve the American people. Specifically, Senate Working Group was created to provide educational opportunities and trainings, connect Senate staff to policy experts, thought leaders, and constituents that can assist in their efforts, and serve as an ‘off the Hill’ resource regarding issues pertaining to the American people.
