SWG hosts first ever, Senate Republican Deputy Chief of Staff & Legislative Director Summit

Hot Springs, VA – Senate Working Group (SWG) hosted the first ever, Senate Republican Deputy Chief of Staff & Legislative Director Summit at the historic Omni Homestead Resort, September 15-17, 2023. The well attended gathering was the largest concentration of Senate Republican Deputy Chiefs of Staff and Legislative Directors outside of Washington, D.C.



"For an inaugural event, for a new organization, we couldn’t be prouder” Senate Working Group Executive Director, James Kimmey shared. “This event was not only well attended, but the content was educationally rich, which as an educationally focused organization, really paves the way for Senate Working Group to serve as an off the Hill resource to the Senate.”


The event featured keynote addresses by former White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and former Acting U.S. Attorney General Matt Whitaker. Additionally, the Summit featured various panel with the country’s top policy experts, including Miles Yu, PhD of the London Center for Policy Research, Steve Yates of the America First Policy Institute, Rick Tyler of the Leadership Institute, Robert Law of the America First Policy Institute, Lora Ries of the Heritage Foundation, Mike Howell of the Heritage Foundation, and Matt Weidinger of the American Enterprise Institute.



Senate Working Group is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Senate staff by providing them with the tools and resources they need to better serve the American people. Specifically, Senate Working Group was created to provide educational opportunities and trainings, connect Senate staff to policy experts, thought leaders, and constituents that can assist in their efforts, and serve as an ‘off the Hill’ resource regarding issues pertaining to the American people.


Senate Working Group is a 501(c)(4) tax exempt nonprofit organization and is not financed by, controlled by, or otherwise affiliated with any governmental entity, including but not limited to the United States Senate.
